The clocks went back this weekend. It didn’t really hit me what that meant until Wednesday night. The nights are darker earlier. I had a super-migraine attack 14 months, where they suspected I’d had a stroke. As a result I have no spacial awareness in the dark.
Wednesday night, I turned out the hall light and walked straight into the bedroom door. We turn out lights to save electricity and in winter we close doors to prevent drafts. But that also means total darkness. It means if I’m not careful then I’m at risk to more clumsy little accidents, at the very least.
